Chateau Dereszla Tokaji 2000

Amazing dessert wine! Beautiful gold colors and honey aromas. Full body with balanced sweetness and acidity and lingering finish. Tried it with blue cheese and goose pate from Hungary and it was just wonderful! Wine Spectator Top 100.

Montes Cherub Rose 2008

This 100% Syrah Rose from Chile has a nice strawberry nose, medium body and is completly dry with a powerful long finish. Excellent refreshing summer drink. Perhaps a bit too fruity for some.

Fresh and Crisp. Lovely bouquet with citrus and green apple flavors. Well balanced acidity and nice lingering finish. Very refreshing! Bubblies for this New Year's Eve

Any of these sparkling wines are sure to be a hit at this New Year's Eve celebration! Cava is an excellent value from Spain and either Segura Viudas or Freixenet Cordon Negro are sure to please your guests. Mumm Napa Brut Prestige is a bit more expensive, but still a great value sparkling wine for under $20 (750 ml). Excellent alternatives to Champagne at a fraction of the cost!

Maipe Malbec

Argentina' Mendoza is an up and coming wine region with Malbec being its signature grape. This a Wine Spectator's Best Value wine with the 2006 vintage rated at 88 points. Deep red in color, well balanced with dark plum, currant and blackberry fruit notes. It paired very well with roast pork, black beans, steamed rice and yucca which we had for our Christmas dinner yesterday.
